Last Friday, we had an appointment with
Vincent Bouatou, head of Imagine Cup at Microsoft France to discuss our project, how it improved after the Imagine Cup 2008 and our future prospects. it was also an opportunity to meet
Antoine Emond, Audience Marketing Manager of the Division Division Palteforme and Ecosystem, who is in charge of live content and community gathered around the platform MSDN (and you will find also
GameBible...:)).
We discussed several aspects both technical / technological and in terms of marketing (web 2.0) and in particular the power represents a strong community as the community of Sustainable Development and Green.
It shows two major difficulties: to mix merchant & community functionalities and to gain enough credibility to assert our criteria for selecting products / partners that we offer through Hop-Cube.
In short, almost 2h enriching exchange that will allow us to complete our offer when it was released!

Vendredi dernier, nous avions rendez-vous avec Vincent Bouatou, responsable Imagine Cup de Microsoft France afin de discuter de notre projet, la façon dont il a évolué après l'Imagine Cup 2008 et nos perspectives d'avenir. ça a aussi été l'occasion de rencontrer Antoine Emond, Audience Marketing Manager de la Division Division Palteforme et Ecosystème, qui est en charge de faire vivre le contenu et la communauté rassemblée autour de la plateforme MSDN (et que vous retrouverez aussi sur GameBible... :)).
Nous avons abordé plusieurs aspects tant en termes techniques/technologiques qu'en termes de marketing (web 2.0) et notamment la puissance que représente une communauté forte comme la communauté du Développement Durable et du Vert.
Il en ressort deux grandes difficultés : celle de mixer en un site les fonctionnalités communautaires et marchandes et celle d'acquérir assez de crédibilité pour faire valoir nos critères de choix des produits/partenaires que nous proposerons à travers Hop-Cube.
Bref, près de 2h d'échange enrichissantes qui nous permettront de compléter notre offre lors de sa sortie !

Even if we left the french Imagine Cup 2008 competition, we continued to follow the adventures of the worldwide finalists, espacially because the final is taking place in Paris nowadays !
So we went to the Novotel, where all the finalist teams are accomodated, and visited the running competitions.
At first, we went to see IT Challenge competition and entered that concentrated atmosphere where the 6 best IT Challengers were at work while about 8h. Still 16h remaining, be brave guys !
You recognized him, Je@nb (Jean-Benoit Peaux) is the french competitor in this category.
Oh ! Isn't it the machine room for the IT Challange category ? What monsters !
Then, just few meters far from that room, we meet the Project Hoshimi Teams, conding hard their strategies. Here again, the competitors have to be concentrated on their development during 24h non-stop ! A hard time for them !
We ended our tour by visiting our collegues, the teams Edelweiss and Jivad which are composed by one student from EFREI technology institute and one other from the Strate College, a designer school. Here is their blog !
They started to imagine a new interface about 8 hours ago when Jivad team gave us their comments about the running work.
And as you can see, they were in a quiet and peaceful place, giving them all the space they needed to create and imagine without constraints.
Smartcooking, the winning project of the french competition final was about to present face to the judges for the first time ! Unfortunetely, a technical issue appeared just during their preparation !
After 10 minutes of tangible tension, they finally reboot all their system and all was done and the problem was solved miraculously !! That is we call the "demo effect" and always appends when you prepared something for hours.
Quoting some judges, they had all their chances, making demonstrative presentations and holding a strong project.
However, their adventure stopped among the 12 world firsts finalists. We are impatient to know if they continue to develop their project by creating a company. Here is the blog.
Finally, we finished our visit to the Imagine Cup 2008 competition finals by walking through the showcase room, where all the projects were exposed. Même si nous avons quitté la compétition française d'Imagine Cup 2008, nous continions à suivre les aventures des finalistes mondiaux, particulièrement parce que cette finale se passe à Paris ces jours-ci !
Donc nous sommes allés au Novotel où toutes les équipes finalistes étaient logées et nous sommes allé rendre visite aux concurrents lorsque la compétition battait son plein.
Tout d'abord, nous somes allés voir la compétition It Challenge et nous avons pénétré une ambiance concentrée où les 6 meilleurs IT Challengers étaient à la tâche depuis environ 8h. Encore 16h restant, courage !
Oh ! N'est-ce pas la salle machine de la catégorie IT Challenge ? Quels monstres ! :p
Ensuite, quelques mètres plus loin, nous avons rencontré les équipes Project Hoshimi, développant leurs stratégies. Ici encore les concurrents doivent être concentrés sur leur développement pendant 24h d'affilées ! Dur !
Nous terminons notre tour par nos collègues, les équipes EdelWeiss et Jivad qui sont composé d'un étudiant de l'EFREI (école d'ingénieur informatique) et d'un étudiant du Strate College (école de design). Voici leur blog !
Ils ont commencés à imaginé une nouvelle interface il ya environ 8h quand l'équipe Jivad nous font leur commentaires sur l'avancé de leur développement.
Comme vous pouvez le voir, ils étaient situés dans un endroit calme et reposant, leur donnant tout l'espace dont ils ont besoin pour créer et imaginer sans contraintes.
Smartcooking, le projet gagnant de la finale de la compétition Imagine Cup en France étaient sur le point de présenter leur projet face aux juges pour la première fois lorsque nous les avons rencontré. Malheureusement, un problème technique est apparu pendant la préparation de la présentation !
Après 10 min de tension palpable, ils ont finalement redémarré tout leur système et tout est rentré dans l'ordre ; the problème était résolu miraculeusement !! Ceci est appelé l'"effet démo" et survient toujours lorsque l'on prépare quelque chose durant des heures.
D'après certains juges, ils avaient toutes leurs chances, en faisant des présentations impressionnantes et possèdant un projet solide.
Cependant, leurs aventures se sont arrétées parmi les 12 finalistes mondiaux. Nous sommes impatient de savoir s'ils continuent leur projet en créant une entreprise... Voici leur blog.
Finalement, nous avons finis notre visite à la finale de la compétition Imagine Cup 2008 par la salle de présentation des projets et des équipes. A cette occasion, nous avons rencontré l'équipe de Software Design algérienne (PolyGeek) et nous avons discuté de leur projet quelques minutes.
